The Queen Anne’s County Commissioners have approved a lease agreement with Kent Island Community Garden, Inc., allowing the relocation of the garden to county property at 210 White Pine Lane in Stevensville, next to the offices of the Fire Marshal. Since 2015, the Kent Island Community Garden has thrived within the Harborview subdivision on land owned by the Galilee Evangelical Lutheran Church. However, the church has decided to sell the property, putting the garden’s future at risk. In response, the gardening group, led by John McKnight, reached out to the County Commissioners for assistance in finding a new location.
