The special election to fill the 5th Ward City Council seat once held by Councilman Muhammad “Anjum” Zia is now set to occur during the general election Nov. 5. The Press of Atlantic City reports Atlantic County Superior Court Assignment Judge Michael Blee, who vacated Zia’s 2023 reelection Aug. 29 after finding he was not actually a resident of the city, issued his decision on the election date in a court hearing Monday morning.
