Delaware State Police have obtained an arrest warrant for a Chestertown man in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred Thursday night in Middletown. Troopers said 38-year-old Francisco Mendez-Peralta, of Chestertown, was identified as the driver of a Chevrolet Equinox that struck an E-Bike rider around 7:50 p.m. Oct. 30 on Middletown Warwick Road, about a mile north of Strawberry Lane. The 62-year-old Middletown man who was riding the E-Bike was flown by state police helicopter to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His name is being withheld pending family notification.
