Millington Muncipal Election Cancelled

The municipal election in Millington scheduled for March 4 has been cancelled because the candidates for the two open positions — Mayor Kevin Hemstock and Councilmember Zita Seals — are unopposed. The Evening Enterprise reports according to the town charter, there is no election if the race(s) is uncontested.
The last time the Town of Millington had a contested election was in 2022, when Seals won by a wide margin, 27-3. And before that, Millington had not had a contested election since 2017.
