Kent County Sheriff’s Office has received complaints regarding subjects sending Facebook messages to residents, asking them to provide personal information to apply for a grant through Maryland Health Departments. In many cases, these messages are coming from Facebook friends of the victims, however, these accounts have likely been compromised before sending the message.
Please do not provide any personal information, or click any links you receive through Messenger, even if they are from a trusted friend, unless you are expecting them.
