Queen Anne’s County officials say the recent initiative to recycle single-use boat shrinkwrap has resulted in a significant increase in the amount of plastic diverted from landfills. In the second year of the program, Queen Anne’s County Government has seen a 370% increase in the amount of recycled shrinkwrap compared to last year. This year, a total of 12,000 pounds (6 tons) of plastic shrinkwrap was collected and recycled, a substantial increase from the 1.62 tons collected in 2023.
